In my current workplace, everyone is so friendly and nice. It's chill to have informal conversations about anything, from politics to dungeons and dragons. Today’s topic is startups. I had a conversation with my boss over lunch relating to starting a company. It was really insightful for me, and here are the digestable points.
The overall message is commitment, goal-setting, and team.
Starting a startup requires unwavering dedication and commitment. Success comes from being fully invested in the venture, dedicating time, effort, and passion to make it work. It's not a part-time endeavor. It has to be serious and it has to be deliberate. This is something I have to decide for myself as an aspiring founder.
A focused and efficient journey necessitates clear goals and boundaries. Define your objectives, both short and long-term, and ensure that everyone (especially Co-founders) is aligned with the vision.
The popular saying goes “Ideas are cheap, it's about execution”. A great team with complementary skillsets will build a great product. Startup founders (especially tech founders) get to sucked into building the product. Hire the tech expert to build it while you focus on the vision. If you can’t convince someone to join you in building an amazing product, how can you convince customers to pay you? Once you have the right team, trust them to do the job.
Some final words are related to just simply started. This comes in the form of validation or as I like to call it, talking to folks. Find a way to convince the world that this is a legitimate problem worth solving, and that you are the right man to solve it. Ask more questions like would you be interested in using something like this, hey I spoke to XX number of people and they expressed interest in this, would you pay for something XX people are willing to pay for.
Happy building!
